DANCE SALON: FROM BALLROOM LESSONS TO CENTRE STAGE

The Dance Section will host a presentation on Tuesday,  Mar. 30 at 7:30 pm by Amy Bowring, executive and curatorial director of Dance Collection Danse. DCD is an archives, publisher and research centre dedicated to Canadian dance history. It exists to preserve Canada's dance heritage and share it internationally through programming such as virtual and live exhibits, screenings, lectures, workshops, education, dance animation, catalogues, annual magazine, books, and by supporting research. Dance history is an ephemeral art form and requires special care to ensure that the art and the artists are not lost to time. Brochures about DCD are available HERE.

Amy will focus on several former Club members who performed and taught dance in the early years of the Heliconian Club.

The event will happen on Zoom, and will be recorded. The recording will be made available to registrants 48 hours after the event, and will be available for 8 days.

By logging on to the Zoom event you consent to having your shared video and sound recorded and that recording can be used by the Heliconian Club for any future purpose. You are welcome to turn off your video and mute your microphone.
