Put on your dancing shoes and join us for an evening of dance. Your toes will be tapping to diverse dance music from Argentina, Scotland, Poland, Canada and the US with a Waltz, a Tango, a Polonaise, a Rag and more. The program includes Money Musk Muse by Heliconian member composer Dorothy De Val, and a series of four by Kye Marshall written as a tribute to the Heliconian Club: a Bossa, a Rag, a Tango and finishing the evening- a rousing Hoedown. Originally scheduled as the last concert of the 2019-2020 season, which was postponed because of Covid-19, it becomes the opening concert for the 2020-2021 season. Shortly before the planned, rescheduled performance date, Toronto returned to phase 2, and a live concert was not an option. So instead we have put together a recording of the show.
The recording will go live at 7:30 pm on Friday, November 20 and be available for 8 days. Last year’s subscribers will be sent the link automatically. For everyone else, the cost is $10 for Heliconian members and $15 for the public, including tax. Image credit: Simone Creed
