The Artists:

Donna Bryce
Donna is an upcoming contemporary abstract artist who started painting later in life and discovered a new outlet for her creative side.  Her various professional careers have given her a sense of organization, time management and design.  Her background in interior design continues to influence her sense of colour and composition. Donna is currently under the tutelage of her art coach, Catherine Shea and a member of her Studio Artist Hub. She is also a member of Older Artists and Acrylic Artists.

Vivian East
Vivian studied Fine Art at the University of Toronto and Textile Design at Sheridan College. She ran a business called “Viverie” in the 70s, taught screen printing through the TDSB’s continuing education program in the 80s, and starting in 1990, she taught middle school art for 20 years. Upon retiring in 2010, she and her daughter opened the “Freehand School of Art” in North Toronto. In her own practice, Vivian began to focus on oil painting. In 2020, classes had to be held virtually and, as she was no longer teaching in person, Vivian made the decision to start working full-time in her studio.

Mirren Hinchley
Mirren is an emerging abstract painter who, after a
successful career, took up painting in this next exciting chapter of her life.  Her painting process is based on experiential learning. She has been able to let herself go and express her creativity every time she starts a new canvas. She wants her paintings to reveal her joy of colour and texture, to entice and inspire the viewer to think and talk about what they have just seen. Her works have been displayed in juried Canadian gallery shows and also in galleries in Milan, the UK and Venice.

Tina Manttari
Soon after retiring from Seneca College, King Campus, Tina was accepted in the Adult Art Programme at Central Technical School. It was a dream come true. She was encouraged to find her signature style. Today she paints with hard bold colours, uses mixed media and re-jigs her subjects to create a feeling.

Piera Pugliese
Piera is a sometimes landscape painter, whose work is at all times based on nature. She fell in love with the genre in Algoma forest north of Lake Superior, on an OCA course that she took in 1991, her graduating year. She is an award winning artist and arts advocate based in Toronto. She has been involved in several group exhibitions in public and private galleries, and solo exhibitions in alternative exhibition venues.
