ACQUIESCENT: THE FRENCH BAROQUE IN CHINA

A special presentation by North Wind Concerts, the program juxtaposes music by Jean-Philippe Rameau and Michel Blavet—known to have been performed at the Chinese Imperial Court—with projected visuals, soundscapes, and first-hand accounts of how this music was received by Emperor Qianlong and his courtiers. The performers include harpsichordist Louise Hung, Heliconian member cellist Margaret Jordan-Gay, and others. The show is presented by North Wind Concerts (Artistic co directors Colin Savage and Heliconian member Alison Melville). Admission is Pay-What-You-Wish (suggested offering $15 - $20).
