Deirdre’s latest book, Fashioning the Beatles: The Looks that Shook the World (Sutherland House Books) has generated considerable international attention. Deirdre is well known to Torontonians as a one of our high-profile local writers, first earning a loyal readership as a Globe & Mail columnist and then as author of Paris Times Eight and Ballerina: Sex, Scandal and Suffering Behind the Symbol of Perfection.

Fashioning the Beatles makes the compelling case that "John, Paul, George, and Ringo were more than great musicians: they were the quintessential fashion icons of one of the most exciting and memorable fashion eras of all time". From their start in rough black leather to their sartorial evolution through the vibrant Sgt. Pepper era, Nehru collars, and psychedelic styles, the Beatles used clothing to express their individual and group identities, captivating and growing their immense global following". Since its publication, Deirdre has been travelling far and wide to discuss her well researched book, to Vancouver, Chicago, New York, London and, even the Beatles hometown of Liverpool. Join us as Deirdre shares her insights and experiences along with a "fab" visual component. Books will be available for purchase. Light refreshments will be served; cash bar.

Join us on Tuesday Nov 19. Doors open at 7:00 pm;  presentation begins at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $20 members; $25 non members.
