2024-11: Literature Salon - Deirdre Kelly: Exploring the Fab Four’s Fashion Legacy

Deirdre’s latest book, Fashioning the Beatles: The Looks that Shook the World (Sutherland House Books) has generated considerable international attention. Deirdre is well known to Torontonians as a one of our high-profile local writers, first earning a loyal readership as a Globe & Mail columnist and then as author of Paris Times Eight and Ballerina: Sex, Scandal and Suffering Behind the Symbol of Perfection.

Fashioning the Beatles makes the compelling case that "John, Paul, George, and Ringo were more than great musicians: they were the quintessential fashion icons of one of the most exciting and memorable fashion eras of all time". From their start in rough black leather to their sartorial evolution through the vibrant Sgt.
